A platform to easily organize fruit tree projects; helping to gather fruit before it falls.

FruitTreeProject.org

Fruit Tree Projects often don't have the necessary time or resources for dealing with the IT side of things. We aim to make this easier by providing a set of services and forms that let Fruit Tree Projects focus on organizing events and picking fruit rather than spending time in front of a computer screen.

Why we do it

In spring of 2014 we started building our IT platform for Pflueck.org (a hamburg based fruit tree project). Soon after we discovered that other organizations like us needed the same software but did often not have the resources or access to develop it. So we decided to build our software so others could use it as well.

Is it free

Pflück.org e.V is a non-profit and we do not plan to make any money on this. However, at some point we may have to cover server costs so we might ask for a small donation to help us share the fees. We will allways be developing our software for free.

We are currently in closed alpha with just two non-profits. Once we're ready to take on more, we'll let you know. Please drop us an email at mail@fruittreeproject.org and we'll get back to you.

What is a Fruit Tree Project?

Fruit tree projects are usually non-profit organizations that help their community to make more out of their fruit trees. The Portland Fruit website puts it best (no afiliation).

We organize people to gather fruit before it falls, and make it available to those who need it most. We register fruit and nut trees throughout the city, bring people together to harvest and distribute thousands of pounds of fresh fruit each year, and teach tree care and food preservation in hands-on workshops. http://portlandfruit.org/
